Thank you for scheduling a UTO ingathering at your church this fall or next spring. Here’s what you need to know:
The United Thank Offering is a ministry for the whole church. It operates through prayer, stewardship, and a focus on mission. From its beginnings in 1889 it has grown as the church has, yet has remained flexible to change.
Through UTO, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. Their thank offerings are distributed to support mission and ministry throughout the Episcopal Church and in invited Provinces of the Anglican Communion in the developing world.
The United Thank Offering supports projects:
That address poverty of women and children
That make significant impact
That demonstrate new and innovative work
That are a part of a planned diocesan/provincial mission strategy
Whie the grant program is an integral feature of UTO, this is not a fund-raising organization; it is a thankfulness-raising organization. To this end, we encourage use of the "Blue Box" as a tangible way of thanking God for his grace and blessings.
